Welcome to Frosta – A natural paradise

Wander our coastline, explore our forest, discover our rich history and culture.

Frosta is known for its mild climate and gorgeous landscape. Summer sunsets stretch for hours over Trondheim’s fjord and are by themselves worth the trip.

For those seeking an active family vacation, hiking, swimming, sailing, fishing, and bicycling are just a few of the things you can enjoy here. Our coastal trail, bird preserve and forests offer great hiking and biking  with spectacular views of Trondheimsfjord.

Frosta also is home to historic sites of national importance, such as Norway’s oldest court, Frostating, the Logtun church from the middle ages, and the ruins of a monastery built in 1207.

Frosta is known locally as Trondheim’s vegetable garden due to the high quality and variety of fresh vegetables grown here.   The strawberries and potatoes must be the world’s best. Choose between our good, old fashioned Norwegian kitchen or more modern cuisine.  In either case you can enjoy fresh quality.
